Recipe by: Florence Hatz Courtesy of Sustainable Table ® Ingredients: 1 1/2 lb flank steak
1/3 cup vinegar
1/3 cup salad oil (canola or sunflower works well)
3 Tbs. soy sauce
2 medium onions, sliced
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/2 tsp. coarsely ground pepper
3 Tbs. brown sugar Directions: Place steak in a shallow glass dish.
Mix remaining ingredients; pour over steak. Cover dish with plastic wrap.
Refrigerate at least 8 hours - or overnight, turning steak occasionally. Remove steak and onions from marinade.
Grill steak 2' from medium coals until medium rare, about 10 minutes on each side. At the same time, cook and stir onions over medium heat.
To serve, cut meat diagonally across the grain into very thin slices. Top with onions. Recipe Number 48 added on 2006-10-05
