Every three months or so, Sustainable Table publishes
an online newsletter called The Pasture Post, so we
can keep you up to date with what’s new and what
we’re doing. Below is our most current issue.
If you would like to receive our newsletter by email,

The Pasture Post: Holiday Edition
Welcome to the Pasture Post – and Happy Holidays! This is a quick newsletter to wish you and yours all the best this holiday season.
If you haven’t sent your holiday cards and are looking for something different, how about sending a Meatrix e-card?
You can also check out our Feature page“Sustainable Holidays” for recipe ideas and information about the holidays.
We just finished a holiday mailing to the folks we met while on this summer’s Eat Well Guided Tour of America – Sustainable Table’s hugely successful cross country tour to promote local, sustainable food. It involved lots and lots of pies! If you haven’t read our tour blog yet or looked through our photos, please do.
We also just sent out a Tour wrap-up letter and gave Pie Across America Awards to our favorite people, places and moments while on tour. Some of the awards include:
Best Pie Shop East of the Mississippi - Marylin’s Bakery (IN)
Best Pie Shop West of the Mississippi - Mission Pie (CA)
Best Student Effort in Sustainability - University of Wyoming ACRES Program (WY)
Best Sustainable Grocery Store - The Jackson Whole Grocer (WY)
Most Enthusiastic Pie Lovers & Best Pie Event - Slow Food Huron Valley & Growing Hope (MI)
Most Memorable Pie Experience - Pie Ranch (CA)
Movie of the Year - King Corn
Find out who else won a Pie Across America award….
We’re so grateful to have had the opportunity to travel across the country this year and meet so many wonderful people and organizations promoting and producing local, sustainable food. And we’re also grateful to all of you for helping us to spread our message of sustainability and healthy food. This year, we had over 1,000,000 (yes, one million!) visits to our website – and over 73,000,000 hits! We are making a difference.
We’re currently working on our plans for next year, and one of them is to stay in touch with you more often. We’re looking for ways to network people and groups together and to use our voices (and forks!) to create positive change in our food system. Stay tuned for more….
If you get curious before our next Pasture Post, please read our blog to keep up-to-date on news and more surrounding sustainable food and to find out what Sustainable Table and The Meatrix are up to.
We hope you have a safe and peaceful holiday –
and wish you all the best in the New Year,
Diane, Dawn and the Sustainable Table Team
